Mohammed Kamel Qaisi, DMD, MD, FACS

Dr. Mohammed Qaisi grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He received his Medical Degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine-Shreveport, and his dental degree from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Qaisi completed his residency training in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, and a two year fellowship in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Maryland Greenebaum Cancer Center. Dr. Qaisi is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Prior to moving to Chicago, Dr. Qaisi was on faculty at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, where he led a team of physicians to perform the “Fibula Jaw in a Day” procedure, making his group the second in the country, after New York University, to perform and publish on this innovative reconstructive technique
Dr. Qaisi’s clinical and research interests include the treatment of oral cavity cancers, head & neck benign and malignant pathology, salivary gland tumors, Orthognathic surgery, andmicrovascular free flap reconstruction. Dr. Qaisi has published and lectures on these topics both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Qaisi is a site visitor for the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Programs. He serves in both the Illinois Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Chicago Society of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and is the residency program director of the Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Program at Cook County Health.
