A new law took effect in 2019 that requires all prescribers who are licensed to prescribe controlled substance , during the pre-renewal period, complete 3 hours of continuing education on safe opioid prescribing practices offered or accredited by a professional association, State government agency, or federal government agency. This course will fulfill these requirements.
A new law took effect in 2019 that will require all Illinois licensed professionals who need continuing education to renew their licenses to complete one (1) hour of education related to sexual harassment prevention prior to one’s license renewal. The one-hour CE requirement is part of the 48 hours needed to renew one’s dental license – not in addition to the 48 hours of CE.

Oral cancers can develop on your tongue, gums, inside of your lips or cheeks, the floor or roof of your mouth, tonsils, or throat. On average, 64 percent of those with the disease will survive more than 5 years. Based on an emergency proclamation issued by the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations, Illinois dentists are allowed administer the COVID-19 vaccine in the dental office once they have take the proper course. Illinois dentists are also allowed to administer the influenza vaccine in the dental office after they have taken the proper training. This four hour course meets all of the requirements mandated by IDFPR. It is broken down into a 3 hour video, and a 45 minute quiz.
