This course will provide dentists with tools and strategies to proactively identify risks and employ steps to effectively minimize those risks. Topics will include what you should know when considering patient refunds, how to determine when it may be time to dismiss a patient and identify what forms and letters to use.

Tammera E. Banasek focuses her practice on the litigation of professional and general liability cases, with an emphasis on the defense of complex medical, dental, and nursing home issues. She received her BA in 1985 from Northern Illinois University, and her juris doctorate (cum laude) from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1993. She regularly speaks and publishes in the areas of medical and dental malpractice, including in claims, risk, and employment matters impacting health professionals. She has tried numerous cases to successful verdict and handled several cases through appeal. Ms. Banasek is the recipient of the Illinois Jury Reporter Trial Excellence Award for outstanding dental defense verdict. She is also recognized as an Illinois Super Lawyer.
