Description

The course discusses some of the  ethical issues currently facing dental practices, and provides attendees with options to consider for these various ethical issues. The format for the course, which involves real world hypotheticals, is meant to be both entertaining and engaging.

Learning objectives include, but are not limited to, options to consider for such issues as: requests for inappropriate treatments, supervising dental team members, furnishing dental records, disclosing conflicts of interest, and dental marketing.

ISDS is an approved continuing education (CE) sponsor in the State of Illinois. Courses offered by ISDS, including this one, are approved for CE credit under the Illinois Dental Practice Act for license renewals, including both dentists and dental hygienists.

Sean Murphy Related Seminars and Products


Sean Murphy currently serves as the CEO for the Harris County Medical Society (HCMS), the country's largest county medical society, representing over 15,000 Texas physicians in the Houston area. In his role, Sean works with the 24-person HCMS team to provide advocacy, financial savings, informational resources, continuing education, and valuable benefits to Texas physicians and their practices. Prior to joining HCMS, Sean served as the Executive Director for the Arizona Dental Association (AzDA) and previously as the Vice President of Advocacy and the General Counsel for the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), and as a result, brings with him a wealth of association and advocacy experience. Sean has lectured throughout North America on various dental topics, many involving the business and legal aspects of running a practice. Sean grew up in Rock Island, Illinois, is the son of Rock Island dentist Greg Murphy, brother to Sterling dentist Ryan Murphy. and received his undergraduate degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. Sean obtained his Juris Doctorate (JD) from Saint Louis University School of Law, where he graduated cum laude while also obtaining his Health Law Certificate, and is a Certified Association Executive.
